10 Cardinal Rules for Survival
1. BE SMART. One human is worth an infinite number of Zeds, so we don't make trades. Our wits are our best weapon.
2. Survival is always your primary objective. Mission objectives are secondary.
3. Complacency will get you killed. For the rest of the week, safety is the most dangerous fallacy you can believe in.
4. Find a buddy. You're far less likely to fall victim to an ambush with more than one set of eyes and more than one weapon.
5. Communicate with fellow humans.
6. Vary your routes. The Zeds know that we have to get to certain places (ex. major class buildings), and they'll try to use that against us. Keep your movements unpredictable. Avoid high traffic areas.
7. Missions begin when you leave your dorm and end when you get back in. Briefings, debriefings, and traveling to/from missions often have more casualties than the missions themselves.
8. Give corners space to maximize the time it will take a waiting Zed to reach you.
9. Use cover. To tag you, Zeds have to get to you. High ground, walls, and choke points are your friends.
10. Don't chase Zeds. If you get them, they're gone for fifteen minutes. If they get you, you're done.
