A single-file line is just a horizontal row that you're looking at from the wrong side.

The single-file line tactic used by Zeds is simple, effective, and unavoidably broken. This chapter will analyze this tactic and proceed to explain how to defeat it. We will begin by addressing why the single-file line tactic is underhanded and broken.
The single-file line tactic is meant to minimize the horde's exposure to one Zed per line. In theory, this is a smart idea. However, given reaction times, confusion, and momentum, meat shields will inevitably come into play. Assuming that every Zed exercises integrity and doesn't intend to cheat with a meat shield, (Tangent: Zed players are typically good, fun people. Just as many humans break rules as Zeds. Don't mistake this forum for being anything personal against Zed players. It is not. Take the game seriously, but don't let it turn you into a d-bag.) which is a pretty big assumption seeing as there will always be a few people on each side that break rules, the same effect will still occur. A Zed that is stunned has the momentum of the entire line behind it pushing forward. So, let's say it takes a Zed half a second to realize it's been stunned. Now, that Zed needs to move out of the way. Let's assume that the Zed is fast and only takes 1 second to get itself completely out of the way. Fighting a line of 10 Zeds, that's 13.5 seconds (it doesn't matter if the last Zed gets out of the way, or it would be 15 seconds).
