Ch 6: Mission Types

You'll never know exact mission details until the time of each mission actually arrives. However, moderators have a habit of using the same types of missions, even if the details are changed around a bit. The best you can do to prepare for missions is to learn these basic types that you'll encounter and figure the best general strategy for each one. Note that different sets of moderators may have their own preferred missions, and that the categories discussed in this chapter will be according to what my own university does. Escort: Escort missions require an item or NPC to be safely delivered from one place to another. These missions force humans to travel in the open and typically limit movement to a leisurely walk. The NPCs cannot be expected to fight, and traveling in the open with limited speed will almost always cause a standoff.
The best way to prevent casualties on an escort mission is to keep the Zeds from consolidating their forces around you. To do this, you must sabotage their efforts to meet up. The ideal course of action is to keep about 66% of your force around the NPC while 33% strike via ambushes and harrassment. If the harrassment is successful, the Zeds won't be able to gather into a large group. If the Zeds can't gather into a large group, they won't engage the larger force that you left with the NPC.
